The poster on the left was the first version of my film poster for my film, MARA. This poster was ineffective as it the slogan used a dark blue. It was difficult to read the slogan and there was no focus model. It did not have the cast and did not look like a professional film poster. The red of the text was too bright and it did not have the information that all typical film posters have. This is ineffective in conveying my film and it does not suit my film.
The poster on the right is the new updated version of my film poster. This is more effective as I changed my anchor model to the one holding the doll. This image was particularly striking as the doll first captures the audience attention . You then notice the hands which create a much more sinister image. The colours are much more muted and stand out much more than the brighter colours whilst still maintaining the horror vibe. The slogan is much more visible and conveys a Nightmare on Elm Street/Friday the 13th vibe which is exactly needed as the film is a slasher supernatural genre. This poster is much a much more effective marketing tool and sells the horror trailer very well.
